Lady Jackets Continue Winning Ways

CLARKSVILLE, AR.-Howard Payne needed a 10-0 run at the midway point of the second half to fight off a scrappy University of the Ozarks team in a 67-49 win Thursday in American Southwest Conference play.

The first ten minutes of the game proved to be frenetic as the contest went back-and-forth. Ozarks held a 14-12 lead at the 9:57 mark of the first half. Ozarks wouldn't hold the lead for long though as the NCAA III defending national champions answered with a basket on their next possession. With a 46-36 advantage at the 11:34 mark of the second half, Howard Payne used a 10-0 spurt to all but put away the Lady Eagles.
