KERRVILLE, Texas – The second-ranked Howard Payne Lady Jackets complete a perfect regular season (25-0) with an 85-44 win over Schreiner University at the Eddington Center Saturday afternoon.

At 25-0 on the season the Lady Jackets become only the second American Southwest Conference women's basketball team to go perfect in the regular season.

Howard Payne jumped out to an early lead and never looked back holding a 42-20 halftime advantage. The Lady Jackets held Schreiner to just 23% shooting in the first half.

Outscoring Schreiner 15-6 to start the second half Howard Payne held a 57-26 lead with 14:32 to play. The Lady Jackets allowed 22 Schreiner points in the second half on their way to the 85-44 victory.

Howard Payne was led by Kim Hoffman with 17 points on 6 of 9 shooting. Meia Daniels and Stacey Blalock had 14 points each. Daniels dished out 5 assists. Elaine Hobbs and Stephanie Brewer had 11 and 10 points respectively. Hope Hohertz grabbed a game high 9 rebounds.

Monica Enriquez led Schreiner with 10 points. She was the only Schreiner player in double-digits.

HPU finishes the regular season at 25-0, 21-0 in the ASC, while Schreiner finishes 7-18 overall and 6-15 in ASC action.

The Lady Jackets will play next in the first round of the American Southwest Conference Tournament in Tyler, Texas. They will play at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 29 against Louisiana College.
