BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne Yellow Jackets split a double header with the University of Dallas in non-conference action (3-1, 1-4) at Don Shepard Park Tuesday afternoon.

In game one both teams remained scoreless through 5 innings before Howard Payne jumped on the board for three runs in the bottom of the 6^th.

University of Dallas was able score one run in the top of the 7^th. HPU's Chase LaPenna picked up the win for the Yellow Jackets throwing 6.0 innings giving up just three hits. Garza both the save for Howard Payne. UDallas' Carkhuff got the loss.

Cale Thompson and Salvado Tijerina were both 2-2 hitting in the game. UDallas' Fogerty went 2-3 in game one.

In game two it was UDallas that crossed the plate first scoring three runs in the top of the 3^rd. Howard Payne added one in the bottom of that inning but was held scoreless the rest of the game.

Gilbert Barrera got the loss for Howard Payne pitching 2.1 innings and giving up 3 runs on 1 hit. Barrera walked five. UDallas' Packard got the win throwing 3.1 innings. Packard gave up 8 hits and one runs in the game.

This week's American Southwest Conference's West Division Co-Hitter of the Week, Taylor Zambreski went 3-4 and Cale Thompson was 2-4.

UDallas only had 3 hits in the game but won 4-1(Fogerty, Holmes, and Evans).
