BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne defense held Texas Wesleyan University scoreless to post a 0-0 tie in non-conference action at Citizens National Bank Field on Saturday.

Shane Cazad (Wylie, Texas)and Dennis Benitez (Carrolton, Texas) got the only two shots on goal for the Jackets, but It was the HPU defense that was the story of the game. Francisco Medina (Mt. Pleasant, Texas) play the first period in goal for HPU recording 1 save. Malcolm Framjee (Conroe, Texas) played in goal in the second posting 5 saves.

It was a physical game and the players were on edge. Texas Wesleyan had 6 yellow cards and a red card given to HPU's one yellow card. 

The Jackets will play next at home on Tuesday versus Our Lady of the Lake University.
