Softball Has Strong Showing At Letu Tourney

LONGVIEW, Texas - The Howard Payne Lady Jacket softball team won three out of their four games at the LeTourneau University Spring Classic to improve to 7-1 on the season.

In game one on friday, HPU downed Austin College 6-4. Melissa Hall got the win for the Lady Jackets. Rebecca McDaniel recorded 2 hits and 4 RBI in the game.

Game two on friday HPU got their only loss of the tournament in a 1-6 deceision to East Texas Baptist University. Kate McLaughlin drove in the only run for HPU and also picked up the loss.

Howard Payne won both games on Saturday, 5-4 over Nebraska Wesleyan University and 9-1 over Trinity University. 

The Lady Jackets will play next at the ASC 1st Pitch Tournament on March 6-7.
