Jackets Keep TLU Winless

SEGUIN, Texas - The Howard Payne men's soccer team defeated Texas Lutheran University 1-0 in American Southwest Conference action Saturday afternoon.

Howard Payne scored in the 73rd minute of the game when Kelton McMillian got a pass from Jaime Benitez and found the back of the net.

McMillan goal was his first of the year and was the game winner for the Jackets. HPU was outshot 17 to 8 in the game.

Francisco Medina played all 90 minutes for the Jackets at Goal keeper recording seven saves.

Howard Payne improves to 2-3-0 overall and 1-1-0 ASC action, while TLU falls to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in ASC play.

The Jackets will be at home next Friday and Saturday against LeTourneau University and East Texas Baptist University.
