HPU Downs Sul Ross 3-1

Tamike Heline led the Lady Jackets with 14 kills against Sul Ross State

ALPINE, Texas - The HPU Lady Jacket volleyball team defeated the Sul Ross State Lady Lobos 3-1 in American Southwest Conference action Monday night.

After dropping the first set 17-25, Howard Payne settled down and took the second 25-12. The Lady Jackets went on to win sets three and four, 25-22, 25-16. 

HPU was led by Tamika Heline with 14 kills. Amanda Gutierrez and Megan Pick had 12 and 10 kills respectively. 

Amber Cantu-Curry had 17 assists and 12 digs. Amy Cardwell led with 25 assists. 

Howard Payne improves to 4-8 overall and 2-2 in ASC action, while Sul Ross State falls to 0-8, 0-3 in ASC play.

HPU travels to Austin to play Concordia University Texas on Wednesday at 6:00 pm.
