BROWNWOOD, Texas- The Howard Payne University men's soccer team lead goal scorer, Shane Cazad, scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win Friday afternoon over Texas Lutheran University.

The goal came in the 14th minute when Luis Tamez threaded a pass through the defense to find Cazad after a nice run to beat the defenders to the ball and score his tenth goal of the season, good for no. 4 in the American Southwest Conference.

HPU Goal Keeper, Kyle Huesing got the clean sheet and made 6 saves on the day. TLU Keeper, Cameron Strealy also had 6 saves.

Fouls finished HPU 11, TLU 7. Corners were HPU 8, TLU 7.

HPU is now 11-4-1 overall and 8-4-0 in the ASC. TLU is now 7-8-1 overall and 7-4-1 in the ASC.

The next game will be the regular season finale, as the Jackets will face Schreiner University at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 at Citizens National Bank Soccer Field in Brownwood.
