HPU Drops Close One To UT-Dallas

BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne men's tennis team had chances but could not pull it off in the end losing to the University of Texas at Dallas 4-5 on Saturday.

After dropping the #1 and #2 doubles the #3 team of Jeff Toyne and Jarrett Dawson pulled out the 8-4 win for HPU's first point of the match. Edward Martinez won in the #1 single spot 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. Raymond Borjas won in #5 6-2, 6-2 and playing #6 Will Thomas won in 6-1, 6-1.

The Jackets fall to 1-3 on the year and will play next at home on Thursday against the University of the Southwest.
