ABILENE, Texas - The Howard Payne men's tennis team fell to McMurry University 6-3 to end the regular season but will have to wait till the end of the week to see about an American Southwest Conference postseason spot.

Seniors Chris Sutton and Ross Sidman where the only two Jackets to pick up singles wins. The #2 doubles team of Sutton and Raymond Borjas defeated McMurry's Daniel Olivares/Levi Cockrill 8-4 for the other HPU win.

"The men's team fought hard and our seniors lead the way with wins from both of them (Ross Sidman and Chris Sutton)," said head coach Sally Brown. "These two young men will be deeply missed by our team next year. They have been a cornerstone in developing the program we have."

Howard Payne will have to wait till the end of the week to see for sure on an ASC playoff spot with other top ASC West Divisions teams still to play this week.

The Jackets finish the regular season at 7-9 overall and 4-2 ASC West Division play, while McMurry improves to 11-6, 5-0 in ASC action.
