Jackets Get 3-1 Win Over Louisiana College

PINEVILLE, LA - The Howard Payne University men's soccer team got two goals from forward Eric Young to defeat Louisiana College 3-1 in conference action Saturday afternoon.

HPU's Eric Young scored his first goal of the match just 1:49 into the game on an assist by Shane Cazad.

It remained a 1-0 Jacket lead through halftime till Young netted his second of the game in the 62st minute on a assist from Oliver Barker.

LC's Jakob Goodwin scored their only goal of the game in the 64th on an assist from Vinny Torres.

The Yellow Jackets added an insurance goal in the 77th minute when Jesus Vazquez scored on a Cazad assist.

Howard Payne improves to 5-5 overall and 3-4 in conference play, while LC falls to 2-9-1, 1-5-1 in ASC action.
 
The Yellow Jackets will be at home next Friday and Saturday versus Hardin-Simmons and McMurry. The McMurry match on Saturday will be senior day at Citizens National Bank Field.
