Lady Jackets Score 5 On Louisiana College

PINEVILLE, LA - The Howard Payne University women's soccer team recorded their fourth shutout of the season in a 5-0 conference victory over Louisiana College Saturday afternoon.

Howard Payne outshot LC 26-3 in the game and allowed only two LC shots on goal.

Leslie Jones got the scoring started for HPU in the 16th minute on an assist from Dacia Burill.

Shannon Costello then scored on a corner kick in the 33rd minute. HPU followed that just two minutes later with a Lauren Hankins-Hatcher goal. Lori Horn with the assist.

Leslie Jones then scored her second goal of the game on an assist from Hatcher in the 59th minute. The Lady Jackets scored again just over a minute later went Kerrie Ford netted a pass from Emily Nutt.

Howard Payne is now 6-3 overall and 5-2 in conference play, while LC falls to 0-13 overall and 0-5 in ASC play.

Howard Payne will be at home next Friday and Saturday versus Hardin-Simmons and McMurry. The Saturday game versus McMurry will be senior day at Citizens National Bank Field.
