Lady Jackets Defeat Schreiner

BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne women's basketball team defeated Schreiner University 82-54 Saturday at the Brownwood Coliseum.

Howard Payne shot nearly 55% from the field in the game and 46% (7 of 15) from behind the three-point line.

HPU held only an eight point halftime advantage, 38-30. The Lady Jackets started the second half with a 17-4 run and went on to lead by as much as 31.

Brittany Roberson led HPU with 15 points and four steals. Clarissa Krum had 13. Brittani Gattis added nine off the bench.

Schreiner was led by Olivia Swanner with a game high 20 points, followed by Bailey Harris with 17.

Howard Payne improves to 16-7 overall and 13-6 in ASC play, while Schreiner falls to 5-18 overall and 3-16 in conference.

Howard Payne finishes out the regular season next week with home games against McMurry on Thursday and Hardin-Simmons on Saturday.
