Lady Jackets Take HSU To Five Games

BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne University volleyball team took games two and three to force a fifth game with Hardin-Simmons University but fell 3-2 (15-17,23-25,15-25,25-15,15-8) Tuesday evening.

Tamika Heline and Sarah Bishop each had 10 kills for the Lady Jackets. Shelby Bridges and Jessica Guerro had 19 and 18 assists respectively.

Kristin Hammond and Bishop each added 15 digs along with five total blocks (2 solo) from Kerry Ward.

Christine Sas led Hardin-Simmons with 11 kills and 20 digs. Molli Owen had 20 assists.

Howard Payne now stands at 4-7 overall and 0-3 in ASC play. Hardin-Simmons is at 9-2 overall and 3-0 in ASC action.

The Lady Jackets will be in Austin, Texas at Concordia Texas on Thursday before returning to play Sul Ross State on Friday at home.
