KERRVILLE, Texas – Jasmin Thomas scored a game high 18 points for Howard Payne University as the Lady Jackets scorch Schreiner University 76-44 Saturday afternoon.

Howard Payne used great ball pressure and shooting to open up an early lead on Schreiner. HPU did not miss a basket for the first 10 minutes of the game.

The Lady Jackets improve to 15-2 overall and 11-2 in ASC action. Schreiner falls to 6-11 overall and 4-9 in conference.

Howard Payne shot a blistering 54% in the first half to lead 41-24 at the break. The Lady Jackets pushed their lead to over 30 points in the second half before claiming the win 76-44.

Jasmin Thomas led all scorers with 18 points, five rebounds and six steals. Brittany Roberson had 12 points, six rebounds and five assists. Roshonda Gayden added 10 points.

Not one Schreiner player scored in double digits. Jasmin Copeland led with nine followed by Olivia Swarner with eight.

Howard Payne will have two road games next week, Thursday at Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton and Saturday at Concordia Texas in Austin.
