Lady Jackets go 3-1 on opening weekend

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 CHICAGO, IL - The Howard Payne volleyball team got wins over Kenyon College, Ripon College and tournament host North Park University to start the 2012 season at 3-1.

On the first day, Howard Payne defeated Kenyon College 3-2 (28-26, 27-29, 18-25, 31-29, 15-6) before picking up their only lost of the tournament 1-3 (26-24, 24-26, 25-20, 26-24) to Saint Mary's College (IN).

On day two, the Lady Jackets got an early morning win 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-15) over Ripon College. That afternoon the Lady Jackets knocked off host North Park University 3-1 (18-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-16).

Hannah Hicks and Shelby Bridges were named to the All-Tournament team for their performance during the tournament.

Now at 3-1 to start the season, Howard Payne will play next on September 5th in Seguin, Texas versus conference opponent Texas Lutheran University.
