HPU Falls In Three To Hardin-Simmons

ABILENE, Texas - The Howard Payne Lady Jacket volleyball team lost in straight sets 3-0 to Hardin-Simmons University in conference action Tuesday evening.

After dropping the first set 25-14, the Lady Jackets had a .212 attack pct in a much closer second set. HSU would still take the set 25-19 before winning the third 25-21 and the match 3-0.

Sarah Bishop led HPU with 11 kills. Shelby Bridges and Taylor Jordan had 18 and 14 digs respectively. Hannah Hicks added three blocks.

Howard Payne is now 4-6 overall and 0-2 in confernce. Hardin-Simmons stands at 6-3 overall and 1-0 in ASC action.

The Lady Jackets will play next on Friday at Sul Ross State University in Alpine before traveling to Kerrville to play Schreiner University on Friday to finish out their road trip.
