Lady Jackets Lose 3-2 To TLU

SEGUIN, Texas – The Howard Payne volleyball team lost 3-2 to Texas Lutheran University to start conference action. The Lady Jackets battled back from a 2-0 deficit to force a fifth set.

After dropping the first two sets 25-12 and 25-15, the Lady Jackets took the third and fourth sets 25-20 and 26-24 to force a fifth set.

Howard Payne found themselves down 6-0 in the fifth and went on to drop that set 15-11.

Sarah Bishop had a solid game with 14 kills on 38 attempts and just 4 errors. Taylor Jordan added 10 kills and Shelby Bridges added 22 digs. Hannah Hicks had a team high six total blocks.

Howard Payne is now 3-2 overall and 1-0 conference play. HPU will play next in the Austin College tournament on September 7th and 8th.
