Box Score BROWNWOOD, Texas - A second period goal by Shay Pate would not be enough as Howard Payne fell 3-1 to Louisiana College in conference action Saturday afternoon.

In a match that had a 2 hour lightning delay, the Yellow Jackets found themselves down 2-0 after the first half. LC scored just 1:47 into the match and netted a second in the 24:00 mark.

LC gained a 3-0 lead 22 minutes into the second half off a free kick. Shay Pate would then get the Jackets on the scoreboard scoring on an unassisted goal eight minutes later. The game would be called early due to darkness.

Ryan Young played the entire match in goal for Howard Pyane recording seven saves. 

Howard Payne is now 1-12-0 overall and Louisiana College stands at 7-0-0 overall. Howard Payne will play next on October 18th in Longview versus LeTourneau University at 6:00 pm.
