VB Goes 2-2 At UT-Tyler ASC Pod

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 TYLER, Texas - Sarah Bishop had a 17 kill performance versus Mississippi College as the Lady Jackets post a 2-2 record at the American Southwest Conference pod tournament hosted by the University of Texas at Tyler this weekend.

HPU outside hitter Sarah Bishop recorded 36 kills with a .233 attack pct over the four matches. Shelby Bridges also had a solid weekend with 15 service aces and 51 digs.

On Friday, the Lady Jackets picked up 3-0 losses to East Texas Baptist (7-25,23-25,15-25) and the University of Texas-Tyler (20-25,21-25,16-25).

Saturday saw the Lady Jackets getting back to their winning ways with 3-0 victories over Mississippi College (25-16,25-21,25-18) and LeTourneau (25-20,25-11,25-20).

Hannah Hicks had a great weekend at the net with 20 total blocks, nine solo, along with 25 kills. Margje Damstra followed with 18 total blocks, five solo, and 15 kills for the weekend.

Howard Payne now stands at 15-9 overall and 6-7 in conference action. The Lady Jackets will travel to Kerrville on Tuesday for a non-conference match with Schreiner University at 6:00 pm.
