Jacket Soccer Falls 2-0 To LeTourneau

Box Score LONGVIEW, Texas - The Howard Payne men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to LeTourneau University Friday evening in conference soccer action.

Despite being outshot 18-4 in the first half, the Jackets were able to hold LeTourneau to just one first period goal. Letu gained their first goal in the 17th minute for the first half on a diving header.

Howard Payne outshot LeTourneau 14-8 in the second period but would not be able to close the distance after Letu added another goal in the 52nd minute.

Ryan Young played all 90 minutes in goal for Howard Payne gaining six saves and allowing two goals. Shay Pate led the Jackets with four total shots, three on goal. Adgar Villa would also have two shots.

Howard Payne now stands at 1-14-0 overall and LeTourneau is 5-9-1 overall. Howard Payne will play at the University of Texas at Tyler on Saturday at 6:00 pm.
