VB Falls 3-2 To Univ. Of Dallas

Box Score BROWNWOOD, Texas - After taking the first two sets the Howard Payne volleyball team dropped the next three and fell 3-2 (33-31,27-25,23-25,16-25,8-15) to the University of Dallas in non-conference action Thursday evening.

The first two sets were battles with the Lady Jackets taking them 33-31 and 27-25. The third went down to the wire as well this time with UDallas winning 25-23. 

The Howard Payne offense would struggle in the remaining two sets as UDallas took the sets 25-16 and 15-8. UDallas was led by Emily Caples and Jaime Burzer with 20 kills each.

Sarah Bishop led HPU with 14 kills along with 25 kills. Hannah Hicks followed with 13 kills. Shelby Bridges had 28 digs. Hannah Hartshorn added six total blocks, three solo.

The Lady Jackets are now 16-15 overall and UDallas stands at 18-17 overall. Howard Payne will finish out the regular season at the Southwestern University Tournament in Georgetown this weekend.
