Jacket Soccer Falls 2-1 To Concordia

Box Score BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne men's soccer team pulled to within one with 17 minutes to play but fell in the end 2-1 to Concordia University Texas Friday afternoon in conference action.

After finding themselves down 2-0 with 23 minutes to play, Howard Payne forward Shay Pate would net a Eric Young pass to pull the Yellow Jackets to withing one.

Concordia's Frederickson would score both of the Tornados goals in the 22nd and 67 minutes.

Brice Gardner played all 90 minutes in goal for the Jackets recording four saves. CTX did outshoot HPU 16-11 and led 7-1 in corner kicks.

Howard Payne is now 1-10 overall and Concordia picks up their first win of the year at 1-5-1. The Jackets will take on the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
