Lady Jackets Down CTX 76-72

Yessenia Cazares scored 11 points off the bench for the Lady Jackets

Box Score AUSTIN, Texas – Danyel Bradley scored a career high 30 points for Howard Payne University leading the Lady Jackets to a 76-72 victory over Concordia University Texas Thursday evening in conference action.

The Lady Jackets would never trail in the game building a 14-point lead with under a minute left in the first half. Yessenia Cazares hit a three-pointer with :30 seconds left in the first to give the Lady Jackets a 42-28 lead.

Concordia battled back to within two three times late in the second half. Danyel Bradley hit two free-throws with :04 seconds remaining to give Howard Payne the space they needed to secure the 76-72 victory.

Bradley added eight rebounds, four steals and three assists to her career high 30 points. Britani Gattis followed with 20 points and seven rebounds. Yessenia Cazares scored 11 points off the bench. Despite being in foul trouble most the game, Sarah Van Remmen grabbed a game high 10 rebounds.

The Lady Jackets committed 31 turnovers but did outrebound Concordia 50-36 in the game.

Concordia was led by Tyler Compton with 23 points followed by Domonique Liddell with 18. Margaret Milling added a game high six steals.

Howard Payne is now 4-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play. Concordia falls to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in conference. The Lady Jackets will play next on Saturday, December 7th versus Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton at 4:30 pm.
