Volleyball Finishes 2-2 At ASC Pod

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 RICHARDSON, Texas - The Howard Payne volleyball team dropped two matches on day two of the American Southwest Conference pod tournament hosted by UT-Dallas, HPU lost 3-1 to UT-Tyler and 3-1 to East Texas Baptist.

In their first match of the day, Howard Payne fell 3-1 (14-25,23-25,25-23,14-25) to the University of Texas at Tyler. Sarah Bishop finished with 13 kills followed by Margje Damstra with eight. Damstra also had four total blocks. Shelby Bridges had and Allyson Adams had 19 digs.

The Lady Jackets would fall in their second match of the day 3-1 (12-25,10-25,25-22,17-25) to East Texas Baptist University. Bishop again led with nine kills. Tolli Wylie added eight kills on a .389 attack pct. Hannah Hicks had six kills and six total blocks. Bridges had 18 digs and Allison Eaton led with 19 assists.

Howard Payne stands at 9-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play after this weekend. The Lady Jackets will play next on Tuesday at home versus Texas College at 7:00 pm.
