Lady Jackets Defeat ETBU 68-59

Box Score BROWNWOOD, Texas – Howard Payne's Danyel Bradley poured in a game high 22 points to lead the Lady Jackets to a 68-59 conference win over East Texas Baptist University Thursday evening at the Brownwood Coliseum.

After holding a 37-31 halftime advantage, the Lady Jackets put together an 8-0 run midway through the second half to pull away from the Lady Tigers. Back to back three pointers by HPU's McKinley Meyer would give the Lady Jackets a 61-46 lead with 8:35 remaining in the game.

The Lady Jackets would then cruise to the 68-59 conference victory. In the second half, Howard Payne held ETBU to just 25% shooting from the field while shooting 39% themselves.

Howard Payne was led by Danyel Bradley, who supassed 500 career points, with a game high 22 points on 9 of 16 shooting from the field. Danyel added nine rebounds, three assists and three steals. Britani Gattis followed with 19 points and eight rebounds. Meyer finished with 11 points off the bench and Kalin Hanna had nine rebounds and four blocks.

Amanda Rucker led ETBU with 14 points and a game high 12 rebounds. Jasmine Davis followed with 13 points.

Howard Payne improves to 8-6 overall and 7-4 overall. ETBU stands at 4-9 overall and 2-8 in conference. The Yellow Jackets will play next on Saturday versus LeTourneau University at 1:00 pm.
