Lady Jackets Defeat Eagles 82-56

Britani Gattis scored a career high 34 points versus Ozarks

Box Score BROWNWOOD, Texas – Howard Payne's Britani Gattis scored a career 34 points to lead the Lady Jackets to a 82-56 conference victory over the University of the Ozarks Thursday evening at the Brownwood Coliseum.

The Lady Jackets opened up an early lead and never looked back holding a 37-30 halftime advantage. Howard Payne held Ozarks to just 27% shooting and connecting on 50% for their shots in the second that blow open the game.

HPU's Britani Gattis scored 21 points in the second half to post a career high 34 points. Gattis connected on 6 of 8 from behind the arc and was 11 for 17 overall from the field. She also grabbed a team high nine rebounds.

Howard Payne outrebounded Ozarks 50-29 and held them to just 32% shooting from the field for the game.

Danyel Bradley followed Gattis with 15 points, nine rebounds, three assists and three steals. Shardens Hudson dished out a game high seven assists. Kalin Hanna had eight points, nine rebounds and four blocks off the bench. Hanna leads the ASC with 2.6 blocks per game.

Ozarks was led by Taylor Farmer with 19 points and a game high 10 rebounds. Kindra Davis added five assists.

Howard Payne is now 6-4 overall and 5-2 in ASC play. Ozarks stands at 2-7 overall and 1-5 in conference. The Lady Jackets will play the University of Texas at Tyler on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
