WBSK Falls To ASC Leader 72-71

Box Score BROWNWOOD, Texas – Danyel Bradley's two three-pointers in the final 15 seconds would not be enough as the University of Texas at Tyler held off Howard Payne University for the 72-71 conference win Saturday afternoon.

Down 17 points with 11 minutes to play, the Lady Jackets put together a 9-0 run to pull within eight. A Danyel Bradley layup with 9:32 remaining would make the score 51-43.

The Lady Jackets slowly chipped away at the UT-Tyler lead and would pull within three with :15 seconds remaining on two Britani Gattis free-throws.

Danyel Bradley would hit two three-points in the final seconds, the last at the buzzer to pull Howard Payne to within one, 72-71. UT-Tyler's Danai Woods went 4 of 4 from the free-throw line in the final seconds to hold off the last minute Lady Jacket push.

The Lady Jackets were outrebounded 45-35 by the Patriots. UT-Tyler hit 19 of 21 free-throws, Howard Payne was 19 of 23 from the line.

Bradley led all scorers with 29 points along with seven rebounds. Gattis scored 17 points with seven rebounds. Kalin Hanna scored seven points with 10 rebounds and five blocks off the bench.

UT-Tyler was led by Brittany King with 26 points and nine rebounds. Telyor Seals had 11 points and She'Cara Humphrey added 10. Woods had a game high six assists.

Howard Payne is now is 6-5 overall and 5-3 in ASC play. UT-Tyler stands at 10-1 overall and 8-0 in conference. Howard Payne will hit the road next week to play Louisiana College on Thursday at 5:30 pm and Mississippi College on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
