AUSTIN, Texas - Despite outshooting Concordia Texas 15-9 in the match, the Howard Payne women's soccer team fell 1-0 in conference action Friday evening.
Howard Payne out shot Concordia 15-9 for the game but Concordia would hold a slight 5-4 advantage in shots on goal.
Concordia would get their goal in the 71st minute when the ball was played across box and volleyed with,right foot into net by,Nicole Young.
Taylor Bicknell got off four shots for the Lady Jackets, one on goal, followed by three by
Rachel Crane. Marley Zockert and
Tyla Tipton added two shots each.
Kelsie Piland recorded the loss playing all 90 minutes in goal for Howard Payne. Piland had four saves.,
Howard Payne is now 5-5 overall and 0-2 in conference action. Concordia stands at 5-2-3 overall and 2-1-1 in ASC play. Howard Payne will play the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday starting at 5:00 pm in Belton, Texas.
