BELTON, Texas - Howard Payne goal keeper Nicole Goodwin recorded six saves in a Howard Payne scoreless tie with the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in conference action Saturday evening.

The Howard Payne defensive unit was big on the day holding Mary Hardin-Baylor scoreless over the 110 minutes of the double overtime match. Lady Jacket goal keeper Nicole Goodwin recorded six saves in the complete game shutout.

After allowing five shots on goal in the first period, the Lady Jackets buckled down and only allowed one the remainder of the game. It is the sixth shutout for the Howard Payne defense this season.

Courtney Turner and Tyla Tipton each had a shot on goal for Howard Payne. The Lady Jackets were outshot 12-2 overall and 6-2 in shots on goal. Howard Payne did hold the advantage in corner kicks 4-1

Howard Payne is now 5-5-1 overall and 0-2-1 in conference. Mary Hardin-Baylor stands at 6-4-1 overall and 3-1-1 in ASC play. The Lady Jackets will play next on Friday, Oct 17th in Brownwood versus the University of Texas at Tyler starting at 1:00 pm.,
