BROWNWOOD, Texas - Howard Payne volleyball drops conference match against LeTourneau University in straight sets 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 28-26), Friday evening at the Brownwood Coliseum.
Howard Payne started the match off slow with LeTourneau taking a quick lead and the set 25-17. In the second set, HPU would take a short lead 4-0 but would eventually lose the lead and the set 25-15. In the final set, the game would go neck to neck as both teams would battle back and forth. The Lady Jackets would hold the lead a couple of times at the end but LeTourneau would take the set 28-26.
Breanne Cathey would lead the team with eight kills on 26 attempts.
Ariana Rehm and
Tolli Wylie would have six kills each.
Allison Eaton led the Lady Jackets with 17 assists.
Tate Sullivan would have a season best 20 digs.
LeTourneau's Kayla Ronda finished with 11 kills on 33 attempts, Alyssa Eden had 17 assists and Dolores Kroese had 15 digs.
Howard Payne is now 1-19 overall and 0-12 in ASC play. LETU is now 7-16 overall and 3-8 in ASC action. Howard Payne will play tomorrow at 11:00 am versus East Texas Baptist in the Brownwood Coliseum.
