WAXAHACHIE, Texas - Howard Payne goal keeper Kelsie Piland recorded her fourth shutout of the season, 1-0 over Southwestern Assemblies of God University Thursday afternoon in non-conference action.

Marley Zochert recorded her first goal of the season in the 63rd minute on assists from Tyla Tipton and Lynsie Anderson. The ball was crossed to the far side then volleyed in by Zochert.

Howard Payne outshot Southwestern Assemblies 15-10 overall and 10-4 in shots on goal.

Keslie Piland had her fourth shutout of the year in goal for HPU recording four saves in 90 minutes. Piland is now 4-2 overall on the year.

Howard Payne is now 4-4 overall and SAGU stands a 2-5 overall. The Lady Jackets will play next on Saturday at home versus McMurry University starting at 2:00 pm.
