RICHARDSON, Texas - A University of the Ozarks goal with 14 minutes to play knocks Howard Payne out in the first round of the American Southwest Conference tournament Thursday afternoon.
It was Ozark's Bryce Young who scored one-on-one with the keeper after a pass down middle from Thomas Mills in the 76th minute to push Howard Payne out for the conference tournament.
Both teams were even in almost every catagory with the Yellow Jackets holding a 7-4 advanatge in corner kicks.Â
Howard Payne was led by
Alex Sanchez with five shots followed by
Enosh Griffin with three.
Brice Gardner got the loss in goal for HPU recording five saves.
Howard Payne finishes their season at 5-10-1 overall. Ozarks who advances stands at 10-7-2 overall.Â
