Lady Jackets Lose To UT-Tyler

Box Score TYLER, Texas - Shooting woes for Howard Payne led to a 67-41 conference loss for the Lady Jackets to the University of Texas at Tyler Thursday evening.

Howard Payne started the game on a short 5-0 run, but UT-Tyler responded with a 36-15 run over the rest of the first half.

Leading 36-20 at the half, UT Tyler continued to build their lead, going up by as many as 27 in the second half.

The Patriots held the Lady Jackets to just 30-percent shooting for the game, and just 20-percent from beyond the arc.

Howard Payne was led by Sarah Van Remmen with 14 points and six rebounds. Danyel Bradley followed with 11 points. ASC blocks leader, Kalin Hanna, had a game high four blocks along with six rebounds.

Howard Payne is now 12-8 overall and 11-6 in conference action. UT-Tyler stands at 17-3 overall and 15-2 in ASC play. The Lady Jackets will travel to the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark on Saturday to finish out their road trip.
