Lady Jackets Drop Game At Ozarks

Box Score CLARKSVILLE, Ark - The Howard Payne women's basketball team dropped their third straight game in a 66-61 conference loss to the University of the Ozarks Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Jackets shot just 39% from the field and was only 2 of 14 as a team from behind the three-point line. 

After being down 31-30 at the half, Howard Payne traded leads with Ozarks several times in the second half.

Howard Payne held a 58-57 lead with 2:01 remaining in the game when Ozarks went on a 5-0 run to lead 62-58 with :58 seconds remaining.

Danyel Bradley hit a layup eleven seconds later to pull the Lady Jackets to within two, 62-60. Ozarks got two open jumpers in the final seconds to secure the 66-61 win.

Sarah Van Remmen finished with 15 points and three blocks. Britani Gattis led with 16 points and nine rebounds off the bench. Kalin Hanna had eight rebounds and three blocks.

Taylor Farmer led Ozarks with a game high 23 points folllowed by Kindra Davis with 19.

The Lady Jackets are now 12-9 overall and 11-7 in conference. Ozarks stands at 8-13 overall and 7-11 in ASC action. Howard Payne will play next on Thursday at home versus Mississippi College at 5:30 pm.
