Box Score CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - Howard Payne University took an early lead and never looked back winning 6-2 in game three of their conference series with the University of the Ozarks Saturday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets jumped on Ozarks starter Tyler Erickson for a pair of home runs and eventually four runs in the first. Back to back homeruns by Colton Brown and Will Roberts and then a 2 RBI single up the middle by Jake Sadler rounded out the first inning scoring for HPU.

Ozarks produced one run in the first and third innings. The Jackets played solid defensively throwing out Ozarks twice at home during the game.

A Will Roberts RBI single in the seventh and a Joshua Martinez RBI single in the eight would bring the game to its final 6-2 outcome.

Matthew Parks got the win for the Jackets throwing eight innings and striking out four. Jamie Boyd saw one inning in relief. Kyle Kulczyk was 3-for-5 from the plate for HPU.

Howard Payne is now 5-5 overall and 2-4 in ASC action. Ozarks stands at 3-7 overall and 1-5 conference. The Jackets will play next weekend at home versus Louisiana College at Don Shepard Park.
