Jackets Drop Non-Conf Game To DCC

Box Score RICHARDSON, Texas - The Howard Payne baseball team was out hit 15-7 in an 18-2 non-conference loss to Dallas Christian College Tuesday afternoon.

Dallas Christian scored one in the first and two in the second to open up a 3-0 lead.

The Yellow Jackets answered in the fourth with one to bring the score to 3-1 Dallas Christian. HPU's Will Roberts would double to left field to score Matthew Daniel.

Dallas Christian added two runs in the fifth and seven and six in the sixth and seventh frames to put the game out of reach.

The Jackets added another run to their score in the nineth when Brett Quackenbush singled uo the middle to score Kyle Kulczyk.

Quinton Poe got the loss for Howard Payne going just two innings giving up three runs on five hits. Dustin Kelver would come in to relieve him striking out three. Brett Quakenbush finished the game 2-for-3 from the plate with an RBI.

Howard Payne now stands at 7-7 overall and will play this upcoming weekend at the University of Texas at Dallas on Friday and Saturday. Single game on Friday starting at 2:00 pm, double header on Saturday starting at 12:00 noon.
