Matthew Parks improved to 4-1 overall on the year with the win over UTD

Box Score RICHARDON, Texas - Howard Payne's Matthew Parks struckout seven UT-Dallas batters in a 3-1 conference victory for the Yellow Jackets Saturday afternoon at the UTD Baseball Field.

Matthew Parks got the complete game win for the Yellow Jackets to improve to 4-1 overall on the year. Parks allowed just one run, unearned, on eight hits striking out seven and walking just one. Colton Brown and Will Roberts were both 2-for-4 from the plate for HPU.

The Jackets got the scoring started in the 4th when Jake Sadler reached on a fielder's choice plating Matthew Daniel. Then in the 6th, Jake Sadler singled through the left side to score Will Roberts. 

After UT-Dallas scored one in the top of the 8th, HPU's Colton Brown singled through the left side to score John Elmore.

Howard Payne is now 8-9 overall and 5-8 in ASC action. UT-Dallas stands at 9-6 overall and 6-5 in conference. Howard Payne will take on Hardin-Simmons at home next weekend. A single on Friday starting at 2:00 pm and a double header on Saturday starting at 1:00 pm.
