KERRVILLE, Texas - The Howard Payne men's soccer team team fell 2-0 in their season opener at Schreiner University Friday afternoon in non-conference action.

Howard Payne lead every positive catagory over Schreiner but not the scoreboard. The Jackets outshot Schreiner 16-12 and had 10 corner kicks to Schreiner's five.

Brice Gardner played all 90 minutes in goal for Howard Payne allowing two goals and recording five saves. Enosh Griffin and Shay Pate each took four shots for the Jackets.

Howard Payne is now 0-1 to start the year and Schreiner stands at 1-0. The Jackets will play at Texas Lutheran University on Saturday at 4:00 pm.
