SEGUIN, Texas - The Howard Payne men's soccer team fell to 0-2 to start the season with a 3-0 loss to Texas Lutheran University Saturday afternoon at TLU's Gustafson Field.
 
The Bulldogs outshot the Yellow Jackets 23-7 and had 13 shots on goal compared to four for Howard Payne.

Texas Lutheran received goals from Isaac Lopez, Tim Schaffer and Alejandro Martinez on the afternoon, with all three scores coming in the game's first 47 minutes.

Alex Sanchez had two shots on goal for the Jackets with Daniel Torres and Robert Cantu adding one each. Brice Gardner got the loss for HPU allowing three goals in 90 minute and recording 10 saves.

Howard Payne is now 0-2 to start the season and Texas Lutheran stands at 1-0. The Jackets will play next on Sept 5th at Louisiana College in Pineville, LA starting at 4:00 pm.
