SHREVEPORT, Louisiana – The Howard Payne men's soccer team would outshoot Centenary 17-7 but could not get any to go in the net as the Yellow Jackets drop a 1-0 non-conference decision Saturday evening
In a tightly contested and physical outing, Centenary's Kellan Klaus posted the only score at the 43' mark.
Howard Payne outshot Centenary 17-7 for the match and held them to just three on goal. Howard Payne finished with seven shots on goal.
Kevin Ruiz paced HPU offensively with four of the Jackets' 17 shots on the night. Dominic Gilles and 
Jacob Moore tied for second on the team with three shots each.
Allan Chehadi (0-2) played on 90 minutes in goal recording two saves in the losing effort.
Howard Payne is now 0-4-0 on the year while centenary stands at 2-0-0 overall. The Yellow Jackets will play next at home on Friday Sept. 12th versus Wayland Baptist University at 4:00 pm. All home matches are played at Citizens National Bank Field and admission is free.
