SHERMAN, Texas - The Howard Payne volleyball team fell to 0-4 to start the season after suffing loses to Austin College and St. Thomas on day two of the Austin College Tournament.

The Lady Jackets fell in their first match of the day to Austin College 3-0 (25-23,25-9,25-19). Breanne Cathey led the Lady Jackets with eight kills and a .438 hitting pct. Allison Eaton had a team high 16 assists.

In the second match of the day, HPU dropped a 3-1 deceision to St. Thomas (25-14,21-25,25-17,25-22). Micah Cisneroz finished with a match high 12 kills for HPU. Eaton had 23 assists and Shelby Bridges added 26 digs.

Howard Payne is now 0-4 on the year and will play their next match on Tuesday, Sept 6th versus the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas starting at 6:00 pm. The Lady Jacket will then return home for their home opener on Friday, Sept. 12th versus the University of Texas - Tyler at 6:00 pm. 

All home matches are played at the Brownwood Coliseum and admission is free.
