BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne Lady Jackets fell to Hardin-Simmons 9-0 at Citizens National Bank Field on Thursday afternoon.
Hardin-Simmons grabbed an early lead scoring in the 2nd minute of the game and never looked back after adding 5 more goals within the first half. Howard Payne struggled to gain any momentum after halftime as they allowed three 2nd half goals.

Kelsie Piland recorded 16 saves, a new season high putting her at 3rd on the Howard Payne All-Time saves list. Piland is now 2-5 on the year.
The Lady Jackets are now 2-5 on the season and 1-3 in conference play. Hardin-Simmons sits at 7-2-1 overall and 3-1 in conference. Howard Payne will be back in action on Saturday, October 3rd where they will host McMurry University. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
