BROWNWOOD, Texas – The Howard Payne women's soccer team picked up their 2nd conference win after defeating East Texas Baptist University 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Jackets were outshot 20-8 and allowed five corner kicks during the match. The game's only goal came in the 35th minute from Howard Payne's Rachel Crane for her second of the season as she was assisted by Miranda Rice.

Rachel Crane led the Lady Jackets with three shots, two being on goal. Kaitlyn Harrison and Courtney Tuner each had two shots with one on goal. Senior goalie Kelsie Piland played the full 90 minutes picking up 12 saves and notched her 2nd shutout this week.

ETBU was led in shots by Stephanie Castillo who had five shots, two on goal. Erin Miller added four shots with three on goal. Amber Pless had three on the match. Christina Salas played 90 minutes and had four saves allowing one goal.

The Lady Jackets are now 3-6-2 on the year with a conference record of 2-4-2. ETBU is 4-9 overall. Howard Payne will play again on Thursday, October 22nd as they travel to Tyler to take on the University of Texas at Tyler at 5:00 p.m.
