TYLER, Texas - The Howard Payne University men's soccer team fell 4-0 to conference opponent University of Texas at Tyler Thursday evevning on the road.
The Jackets fell behind early in the match allowing goals in the 10th, 15th and 18th minutes to find themselves down 3-0 at halftime. Howard Payne would be outshot 16-3 in the first period.
Texas-Tyler added another goal in the 66th minute to round out the 4-0 final score. UTT would outshot HPU 23-8 overall, 10-3 in shots on goal.
Joshua Otero had two shots on goal for the Jackets with
Shay Pate adding another one.
Allan Chehadi recorded the loss in goal for Howard Payne with five saves and allowing four goals.
Howard Payne is now 3-8-1 overall and 1-6-1 in American Southwest Conference action. Texas-Tyler stands at 7-3-2 overall and 5-0-1 in league play. The Jackets will play next on Saturday at the University of the Ozarks starting at 3:00 pm.
