BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne women's tennis team opened their 2015 team schedule with a 6-3 win over LeTourneau University Friday afternoon at the Nabers Tennis Center.

In number one doubles play,
Alex Marlin and
Brittony Walker defeated Rachel Morisseau and Amy Miley of LeTourneau 8-5. ThenÂ
Tiffany Bullock and
Devin Mendelson in number three doubles won 8-5 over Megan Rush and Megan Morris.
Alex Marlin won 6-2, 6-2 in number one singles,
Chesney Goza won 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 in number two singles,
Brittony Walker won 6-1, 3-6, 10-6 in the number three spot and
Devin Mendelson won 6-2, 6-2 in number six singles.
Howard Payne will play next on Saturday versus NCAA-II Texas A&M Kingsville at 11:00 am. Then on Feb. 20th versus the University of the Southwest at 1:00 pm and Southwestern University at 5:00 pm in Georgetown, Texas.
