SHERMAN, Texas - The Howard Payne volleyball team fell 1-3 to St Gregory's University and 0-3 to the University of Dallas on day one of the Austin College Invitational.
In their first match of the day, the Lady Jackets dropped a close outing to St. Gregory's University,1-3 (13-25,25-20,17-25,17-25).
Micah Cisneroz led HPU with nine kills followed by
Shelbie Harry with eight. Cisneroz also added a team high 18 digs followed by
Callie Molloy with 17 digs.
Playing immediately following their first match, Howard Payne fell 0-3 (15-20,20-25,16-25) to the University of Dallas. Cisneroz had a huge game vs UDallas with a game high 15 kills along with 11 digs.
Taylor Reid led with 14 digs.
The Lady Jackets struggled against the serve recording 15 reception error versus St Gregory and nine versus UDallas.
Howard Payne is now 0-3 overall and will play Southwestern University at 2pm and Austin College at 4pm on day two of the tournament.
