BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Howard Payne women's soccer team was outshot 12-5 in a 3-0 non-conference loss to Schreiner University Friday afternoon at Citizens National Bank Field.
It was a tale of two halves for Howard Payne allowing three goals in the first period but holding Schreiner to no scores and just four shots in the second. Shots were 8-5 Schreiner in the first and 4-0 Schreiner in the second.
Schreiner got their first goal just 1:15 second into the match. The next two came in the 32nd and 37th minutes of the match.
Kelsie Piland got the loss for Howard Payne going all 90 minutes in goal recording seven saves.

Victoria Sanchez each had a shot on goal for Howard Payne.
Howard Payne is now 1-1-0 overall and Schreiner stands at 2-1-1 overall. The Lady Jackets will be on the road tomorrow in Georgetown at Southwestern University for a 12:00 noon match.
