AUSTIN, Texas – Despite a career high 33 points from Khyce Randall, the Howard Payne University men's basketball team fell 111-94 to conference opponent Concordia University Texas Saturday afternoon.

Howard Payne could not overcome 67 first-half points by Concordia but the Jackets would give it a great try.

Down 67-38 at the half, the Jackets shot nearly 53% from the field in the second half and cut the once 30+ point lead by Concordia down to just 12 points on a Bryan Adams three-pointer with 1:25 left in the game.

Both teams shot the ball well but it was Concordia that converted 27 HPU turnovers into 45 of its points that was the difference in the game. The Jackets outrebounded the Tornados 45-30 in the game.

Howard Payne was led by Khyce Randall's career and game high 33 points along with eight rebounds. Shadd Cole had a career high 15 points and 10 rebounds. Volney Willis followed with 13 points and four assists.

CTX was led by Donovan Jenkins with 31 points and six assists. Greg Rollins had 16 and Ephriam Price had 12.

Howard Payne is now 7-11 overall and 3-5 in American Southwest Conference play. Concordia stands at 9-8 overall and 4-4 in league action. The Jackets will be at home on Monday at 7:30 pm versus Louisiana College.
