ABILENE, Texas – The Howard Payne University women's soccer team fell 6-0 to conference opponent Hardin-Simmons University Saturday afternoon on the road.
The Lady Jackets did not have a good outing offensively falling 6-0 to the Cowgirls who outshot HPU 39-0.
Nicole Goodwin and
Shelby Spaulding each split time at goal keeper for the Lady Jackets. Goodwin recorded seven saves and allowed three goals in the start. Spaulding had four saves and allowed three goals in the second period.
Hardin-Simmons scored goals in the 17th, 18th, 20th, 55th, 80th and 88th minutes.
Howard Payne is now 3-7-0 overall and 1-4 in American Southwest Conference play. Hardin-Simmons stands at 9-1-0 overall and 5-0-0 in league action. The Lady Jackets will play next on Oct. 8th versus Sul Ross State University starting at 1:00 pm. Admission is free to Citizens National Bank Field, follow Lady Jacket soccer @HPUwsoc.
